What Is Growing On Your Tree?

18 06 2009

So why all of this talk over the last weeks about Staying Stuck?   Well it all boils down to what you are allowing to be produced in your life; which really equals what is growing on your tree. Yes as we talked about rehearse or release, letting go, who has your remote, to forgive,  rising above it and to be an eagle we were basically looking at what is being watered in our lives and thus what we water is what will grow.  Let me use this bible verse to help illustrate what I mean….

“By their fruit you will recognize them.  Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.  Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. “  – Matthew 7:16-20

So what fruit is growing on your tree? What are you producing in your life?  Understand that whatever is manifesting in your life is in direct correlation with what you are focusing on or allowing to be produced in your life.  The words we speak. The people we have around us, etc… everything has to do with what is produced in our lives.   So if all that is around us and inside of us, by way of our thoughts are in alignment with our desires, than we will be in line with the woman we wish to become.

So if we look at ourselves as a tree, the most direct connection to a tree when we are talking about growth would be our heart as whatever is in our heart is what is manifest in our lives.  So the question here becomes, what is in your heart?  Is it bitterness, resentment? What do you think that produces in your life?  Is it hope and love?  What do you think that produces in your life?  So basically over the last weeks we have looked at pruning the bad fruit – the resentment, bitterness, hurt, anger, pain, sadness, etc….  to uproot those weeds and to instead plant love, self confidence, harmony, happiness, etc….  You see the whole point is whatever is planted in our heart is what will be manifest in our life – remember we discussed this in the blog titled “Program that GPS” on March 13th

“As a woman thinketh in her heart, so is she” – Proverbs 23:7

So do you speak positive words about yourself or negative ones?  Do you have people in your life that are a positive influence or a negative one?  Do your friends and family believe in you and/or your dreams? If any of these things are negative, what do you need to do to change it?  The whole point is that you only want in your life that which will help you to grow positive fruit, so that THIS positivity will be the by product of all that is produced in your life.    Yes when we don’t feel very positive or when we are going through something it is not easy to choose to be positive.  However if we can make a choice everyday to stay in positive, it will produce GOOD fruit growing on our tree of life.  So on those bad days, when we are going through a hard time, etc… we must choose the hard thing, to remain positive despite the outlook or how we feel in that moment….

“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” – 2 Corinthians 4: 8 & 9

I know for me it is during the hard stuff that the only way I can remain positive is to focus on God which indeed is focusing on my faith.  So that when I am hard pressed with issue after issue, I can smile in the face of adversity just like our theme character for 2009, Ms. Esther (If you missed that blog or need to be reminded go back to our blog titled “Let’s Call Her….Strength & Dignity” posted on February 6th) and my biggest take away from Esther is to have a quiet assurance and to know that despite what your current situation looks like you know that….

“all things work together for the good”  – Romans 8:28

Or just like Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (you remember we discussed him on May 1st in our blog titled “Did Ya Learn Something”) well Joseph too modeled that through extremely difficult circumstances, the key to finding that rainbow after the storm is to remain positive.  I know for me the GREATEST ingredient of this positive disposition is really learning how to find that light in a dark place which always leads me back to focus on my faith.  Yes this is when I call on GOD!  Even in calling on the almighty, I think of another example of how to remain positive through it all…. Just think about if this was you… after being beaten, carrying a cross, being spit on, talked about and lied on …would you be able to remain positive and focus on how all things work together for the good?  Well Jesus did and is the ultimate example of RISING ABOVE IT ALL! His journey was definitely for purpose!!!  Whew Jesus is definitely on a level of positivity that I aspire to. I guess that’s what that popular slogan means….”What Would Jesus Do” as he was so positive, He is the model to us all how to not Stay Stuck and Rise Above to become the women God has called each of us to be.    So as we begin Target #3 next week, “Focus on Faith” we begin to look at this positive assurance and understanding just who Jesus is and how faith is the main ingredient in this positive outlook on life.  Here are some quotes to ponder as we leave this week….

“Dwell upon the brightest parts in every prospect…and strive to be pleased with the present circumstances.” -Abram Tucker

I know the fruit on my tree continues to evolve and bear many things. Things I am still pruning (things I am having a tough time with) things I have let go and let fall to the ground, for harvesting and things I am cultivating. At the end of the day Ihope I have let enough sunshine in the heart of the tree to continue to bear the fruit I certainly want others to see and for me to be proud of.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Amen. I strive to live my life so that others will see the light that is in me and know that it’s God’s light. Some days the light is brighter than others…I want people to want to pick fruit from my tree.
