This Little Light of Mine, I’m Gonna Let It Shine!

17 12 2009

Over the last year, with Queen Ester as our example, together we have taken a journey toward finding our very own “For Such a Time as This” moment.  The greatest lesson that we learn from Esther, is what happens when preparation meets opportunity and what happens when we move past our fear and allow faith to be our guide.  Indeed all things are possible!  In order to explore coming to our own  “For Such a Time as This” moment  we have discussed;  Refocusing or revisiting our goals –  Writing our vision so that we can keep our eyes on the prize.   Don’t Stay Stuck- not dwelling on the negative things that have happened to us in our past, or allowing negative situations or circumstances to hold us back.  Focusing on faith  – by building our own personal relationship with God that then allows us to get to know our own unique purpose that He has placed in each of us.  Reorganizing your team –  Making sure you only have people around you that will help you reach your goals. The negative folks gotta go!  Give to Others – remembering the African adage it takes a village by giving back to others along the way.  Now as we end 2009, we come to our last target – Let your Light Shine –  Which is the end product of us MAXIMIZING our potential as we fulfill all of the areas we have discussed over the last year.  It is definitely time for each of us to get out there and let the world experience us in all of our splendor and when we do, we will be shinning just as God intended each of us to do.

My prayer is that over the course of this year, you have found your own light as you carved or redesigned your course, stepped out of you own darkness, that you let go of the past and/or the negative people, circumstances and situations and that YOU NOW are shinning as you light the path for yourself as well as for others to come behind you.  So ladies it is definitely time for us to live in our own light! All we have to do is reach for it….reach to be the BEST you, you can be and then flip it!!!  Flip on that switch.  It is already there!!! Let your light shine so bright that folks have to put on their sun glasses to be around you!!!!  Be the woman God made you to be!!!!  This is exactly how we each get to our very own for such a time as this moment!!!!!!

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
—Matthew 5:14-16

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest
the glory of God that is within us.  It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission
to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates
others.” -Marianne Williamson

Ladies it is time to be able to say (repeat after me) this little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!  So go on and let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!!!!

Today is our last blog of 2009 and we will resume with our new theme for 2010 on January 15, 2010(stay tuned for the new theme announcement coming in a few days).  Now as the MAXIMIZE Moment Blog takes a hiatus between now and then, here is a recommended reading for you – “The Shack” by Wm. Paul Young.  Now I must tell you that I finished reading this not to long ago and it really does give you a whole new perspective on who God is!  Have fun exploring. I look forward to hearing your thoughts as you read.

I hope you each enjoy your holiday season and that I will see you all here on our blog in 2010 as we continue to work together to MAXIMIZE!!!

With you in the Fight to MAXIMIZE,

Nicole Roberts Jones
