It’s Time to Construct New

9 03 2011

This whole talk of getting to our Divine Design and be molded after the model of Proverbs 31 really got me to thinking this week.  You see the Proverbs 31 woman does not become who she is on accident.  No it REALLY is on purpose.  So as we each created our vision board last week, it is that which we determine to do and focus on that we truly become!  Therefore this whole talk of constructing new really is all about changing your focus. It’s time to stop looking at ourselves through the glasses of the past and instead look out of a fresh new pair of glasses and focus only on what is good.  Let’s begin to explore parts of Proverbs that can help us do this.

“She rises also while it is yet night and gives food to her household and work to her maids.” – Proverbs 31:15

Women get  up early in the morning for a number of reasons.  The Proverbs 31 woman as illustrate din the above verse does so mostly to make sure the house is in order before her family gets up and her day gets started.  Well this verse definitely applies to you whether you are married or single.  A homemaker or a CEO.  You see it all comes down to discipline.  It takes discipline to rise while it is still dark to plan and prepare for your day.  That time could be 5am or 4am.  Whew that is early and the reason folks wake up so early is because it is in those quite hours that you can focus and get work done in an uninterrupted atmosphere.   I know for me, getting up early in the morning is when I write the absolute best.  It almost feels like in those wee hours of the morning that God is pouring thoughts right into my head.   It is in that moment between dusk and dawn that the still morning air helps you find the strength of focus.  For that strength of focus is what allows you to begin to be TRUE to WHO you are.  It is in that still quite air that I feel God’s presence much stronger than any other time of the day and it is in Him that my weakness becomes strength.   It is in this strength that I can take off the glasses of my past and look toward my future with hope and promise.  It is in my quiet moments with God that I learn more about who He is and who he created me to be.   It is this same place of hope and promise that when I begin to feel weary during the day, that I can connect back to and remember that moment of clarity as it further helps me to stay focused on my task at hand and it continues to renew my mind.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” – Romans 12:2

It is this renewal that happens on a daily basis in that still quiet moment with God where you will find your discipline and strength.  It is that renewal that begins the construction.  You see that quiet time is  where you can receive direction from your contractor, your carpenter, God and the steps you need to take to begin the process to build.  After all how can anything start without solid plans?  You created last week Your vision board was just the blueprint of what is to come, now you must receive the direction to get there.  Be reminded that the vision is for yet an appointed time

For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. – Habakkuk 2:3

If it’s only for a appointed time, than girl we have NO TIME TO WAIST!  So as we look at the process to build let’s start with finding the quiet time for ourselves so we can get focused and directed.  Some of us are early birds some may find it better in the evening, whatever that is for you …FIND IT!!!.  As you do you will find yourself!!!  You will find the pieces and the process toward your new construction.

After your daily quiet time and your day progresses, if you find some negativity trying to creep in, remember that you are already are on the way to where you are going.  Answer this for yourself. What are you good at?  What do you do well? What is your gift?  And begin to build from that place of strength.   As you build and build, know that the process will take time but you can’t give up on building yourself into this new creation.  Just stay in a positive space, find time to sit with the contractor for clarity. Keep your eyes on the prize and stay focused on the woman you are becoming not that which you used to be.  Be patient with yourself and know that just like all other things construction is a process and all you can say to yourself and any haters that may have something to say about it along the way …

“Please excuse this mess, I am under construction”

Just think about visiting a construction site.  You see things all over the place.  You see a pile of drywall in one place.  Tools in another.  Wood beams coming up in some places and plaster in others.   Yes at the beginning phase of the construction it may not look like too much is happening. But honey it is!!!  It is just going to take some time with discipline and positive affirmations for you stay confident in who you are and whose you are and the vision the blueprint that was designed just for you to build.  So pick up that hammer and stay focused!  Meet with the contractor to get direction!   We have too much work to do for you to start doubting yourself now!  Yes it’s time for us to construct new!!!!
