Adding Beams of Support

17 03 2011

As we construct new, the most important part that goes up, as we begin this work is adding beams of support.  You see it is the beams of support that add protection to the foundation of your home so that all is safe and secure.  In this same vein, as we begin to build room to room next week, we have got to get the support we need to undergird us in this journey.   This is the natural next step as we have already discussed the work of demolishing the old last month and then the last few weeks we have designed our blue print or our vision board so that we can also see the final product before we begin the construction.  We even began to get the discipline, clarity and focus we will need to prepare for the journey of constructing our divine design last week.  Now we must TRULY learn how we keep our eyes on the prize, the end goal, and how we do that is by holding on to positive thinking.  That positive thinking becomes our beams of support.

Everyone has some area in their life that they feel less than confident about.   It could be how you look, your career, finances, relationship or lack thereof.  Well in order to get to the destination of our Divine Design, which indeed is the realization of our vision board, we have GOT to learn to focus on all that is good. You see along the way, it will be easy to get into negative thinking and focus on lack but just like God is not limited by situation and circumstance, neither should we be!  Let me see if I can explain what I mean a little better.

There is a story of a man named Job in the bible.  If you don’t know his story, take a minute to read it but let me give you a quick version here.  Job was a man that had EVERYTHING!  Health, money, a beautiful home, wife, family etc… only to have it all taken away from him, yes he could have easily become negative but instead, he remained positive and said…

“But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.”  -Job 23:10

I am sure you have figured out that the He Job is speaking of in this above verse is God.  So Job knew that if he could just hang in there and stay focused on all that is good, and not the bad things happening to him, he would come out on top of it all.  Eventually it WAS that positive thinking, his faith, trust and happy assurance that turned Job’s negative back into positive as God restored everything.  However it was not just simply restored or given back but God gave Job twice what he had before.  Do you think that God does not want to do the same for YOU too?   It all comes down to you trusting in God’s favor.

In the book I am currently reading by Joel Olsten called “It’s Your Time” Joel puts it this way, “ There are seasons where we’re not seeing a lot of growth, seasons where we have to dig our heels in and fight the good fight of faith.  But I can sense in my spirit that we are entering into a new season of increase, new season of favor.” I share that with you because if we are to get where we desire to go, we must believe that as God’s children He also wants us to get there and that we have his favor to do so.  We must believe that regardless of how things look on the outside that on the inside that desire in our heart, well we must believe that God himself planted it there and all we MUST do is water it.  We water it with positive thinking.  Positive affirmations and positive belief that…

being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.. “ – Philippians 1:6

And if God said it than that settles it!  His word is bond!!!  It will not return void unless we have our old negative self in the way and doubt it!  So the beam of support you need is to understand that the spoken word is powerful.  That our thoughts influence our destination. Yes it really is the thoughts we think and the words we speak into our lives and allow others to speak into our lives that become powerful prediction of things to come.  So instead of saying I am broke, learn to say, I am temporarily out of cash!  Instead of saying, all men are trifflin, learn to say old Jimmy was trifflin but I know God will bless me with a man that isn’t!!  Matter of fact the longer God takes to bring him to me, the better he is getting.   Instead of being negative about where you are, understand that even this is a part of your journey and be like Job and look for that pot of gold that is to come when you get through this!

Last story I will share with you that can help illustrate this is another one from the bible.  This one is about Elijah.  There had been a drought in the land for three and a half years and the people were in desperate need of water and had no indication of any coming anytime soon. However Elijah had a feeling that everything was going to be alright!  Elijah felt in his spirit that the drought was getting ready to be over and went to King Ahab and said….

“Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain – 1 Kings 18:41

No he did not actually see any rain coming but Elijah sensed in his spirit that it was time.  So just as God poured your dream into you, he poured this sound of an abundance of rain into Elijah’s soul.  What’s the point you may ask?  Well it is our NOW time for our abundance!!!! Do you believe it!!  All we have to do to get into our receiving position is to build the beams of support we need to foster it coming to pass.   This is a call for us to stop thinking in lack and instead think in abundance.  To fake it till we make it and act as of it is already done!  To speak positive words that will water what we planted when we wrote our vision board, instead of letting our dreams die due to focusing on what we lack.  Let’s learn to live in thankfulness in what we do have now on the way to what is to come as we listen out for our own sound of an abundance of rain!  That is EXACTLY how we build in beams of support.
