Who’s the Head of Your House?

11 08 2011

As each of us focuses on becoming our own Divine Design for 2011 with Proverbs 31: 10-31 as our blueprint.  Today we begin our look at our next key toward getting there which is– doing major Auxiliary Building to ensure a strong foundation –as we look at Faith.

One of the very first bible verses I remember learning is …Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. – Matthew 6:33

As a little girl, I had no idea what this bible verse really meant.   Now I realize that what this bible verse was really saying is that in order to be the person you are meant to be, this does not come in possession of material things. It ain’t about how big your house is, the kind of car you have, the amount of hair on your head or the purse on your arm.  You see…. Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the Heart – 1 Samuel 16:7… So YES we live in a world that would have us focus on what we have instead of who we are!   Focusing on who we are really is what I believe seek ye first means.  You see when you seek God first you are seeking to become the woman you are meant to be and in so doing you are building yourself up on a strong foundation.  As you allow God to be your guide and gain the knowledge you need to build yourself up, we each begin to grow those fruits of the spirit ….you know…

…love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23

So in other words it is really learning how to master the kingdom within so that we can all become a woman after God’s own heart.  That is how Esther became queen.   For those that have followed the MAXIMIZE Moment blog for the last few years, in 2009 we talked about Esther. You see Esther won the kings heart because she focused on her inner beauty instead of outside adornment like the other women she was competing with for the position of queen.  This is the same focus a Proverbs 31 woman has. It is her inner radiance that shines forth!   That inner radiance comes from truly knowing who directs your path!  Who is the builder of your foundation!  God!

I was reading a bible commentary that said…… “In the hearts of men God writes His laws by His Spirit, and thus rules over them to deliver them from evil, and translate them into His own kingdom of peace and love.”   Is that not deep!  So our goal in building a strong foundation for our lives is to grow as you know who is the head of your house! And as we each seek to grow to be more and more a woman after God’s own heart, we begin to seek God first in all we say and do.   One of the first hyms’ I ever learned may sum this up perfectly…..

 My Hope Is Built

My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

Refrain: On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face, I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale, My anchor holds within the veil.

Refrain: On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand;  all other ground is sinking sand.

His oath, His covenant, his blood, Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way, he then is all my Hope and Stay.

Refrain:  On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand;  all other ground is sinking sand.

When He shall come with trumpet sound, oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne.

Refrain:  On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand;  all other ground is sinking sand.

Because if you have a strong foundation like we have, then you can build or rebuild anything on it. But if you’ve got a weak foundation you can’t build anything. – Jack Scalia
