It Is Finished…So You Think

7 09 2011

This year we have focused on becoming our own divine design and by the time you have reached this point, you have done it all.  You have built yourself up on the inside, you have spruced up your outside, you have organized your housewarming party and been careful to make just the right list of those to invite.  You have even looked to make sure your new house or new self is on a strong foundation.  So you are all complete right.  WRONG!!!   I have to tell ya that in life we each will always aim to do something, work on something, and/or to make something happen and when that is finished, guess what, we will have a new goal to conquer.  The point is, we should never settle for being good enough, we must continue to work and work to make it or us the best.  We will never truly be done with that.  What do I mean?  Well years ago I set out to get rid of my negative attitude in the morning.  Well once I conquered that, I then realized that I was funky all day long….LOL. So then I worked on that.  I can keep my list going but the point is, we will always be working on something.  That’s what life is, a continuous progression toward perfection.  And we will NEVER be perfect but we MUST always strive to be our absolute best; which that means we will always be working on something. It’s like I always tell folks, please excuse this mess,  I am under construction and that’s what life is about, building one experience on top of the next.  I am a work in progress.   So in other words we must never think we are perfect yet always strive for perfection in all we do.

Think of it this, the girl on a diet trying to look like a super model or the person training her voice and practicing her dance moves trying to be the next Beyonce. If you are not meant to be something you will never be it!!!  Everyone is not meant to look like Naomi Campbell so stop trying to be her and instead strive to love yourself curves and all.  Instead really work toward being the healthiest person you can be and take care of your body.  There is only one Beyonce so instead of trying to be someone else we should strive to be the BEST me we each can be.  Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder and it starts by each of us excepting whom we are and stop trying to be the best someone else.  It’s time for us each to be uniquely YOU!  So what areas might you need to take a look at and focus on improving?  Let’s not focus on being Oprah, Michelle Obama, Tyra Banks or Beyonce Knowles, instead be UNIQUELY YOU!!!!  Honor God in all you do by being the best at being YOU!

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made – Psalms 139:14a
